The 4 C’s – Color, Clarity, Cut, Carat

There are four main elements to every diamond, which determines its beauty and value: Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat.

  • Color

  • Clarity

  • Cut

  • Carat

  • Color

Diamonds are graded for color on a scale of D to Z, with D at the top of the chart representing colorless diamonds and Z at the bottom of the chart representing yellow or brown diamonds. Each letter within the scale denotes a specific range of color. The closer a diamond is to colorless, the more it increases in value. Completely colorless diamonds are extremely rare, and are therefore the most expensive. Adele Diamond offers only near colorless to colorless diamonds.

  • Clarity

Diamond clarity determines the amount of inclusions and blemishes within each individual diamond. Flawless diamonds are almost non-existent. The closer a diamond is on the grading scale to flawless, the higher the price. Adele Diamond offers only diamonds of an I1 grading or better..

  • Cut

A diamond’s cut is man’s addition to the diamond, and it determines the diamond’s brilliance or sparkle – the better the cut, the bigger the sparkle. Diamond cuts are graded on a scale from Poor to Excellent. Adele Diamond only offers diamonds of a Good cut or better..

  • Carat

Carat is the measure by which diamonds are weighed. 1 carat is equivalent to 200 milligrams. Although diamonds of the same weight can vary slightly in size, they are priced according to their weight. Adele Diamond offers diamond centers from .25 carat up to 2 carats..
